The HuntersIt was a ruin, but the castle still dominated the area. It stood on a hill, two towers reaching above the rest. A girl walked up the steps set into the grass, her long coat blowing behind her in the wind. A full moon emerged from behind the clouds and dimly lit the castle as she left the grass and stood in front of the crumbling outer wall. The Hunters
The gap where the door used to be was dark; she couldnt see anything beyond the wall. She sighed, looking up at the rough stone. Theres nothing there, she told herself. Its just an old ruin. She sat on a step, still reluctant to go into the darkness, and looked down the hill,

Two SidesI remember someone asking if I knew anything about war. I said no, at the time; but I do know about it. Not the kind theyre thinking of, with guns and armies in far away places. This is much closer, and there are just 3 people involved. Two Sides
It started small. Arguments over little things; one person coming home late, the other forgetting to pay a bill. Theyd argue, like everyone does, and then theyd seem ok. I never really noticed it then. I just thought it was normal.
Then, one night, something broke.
Where have you been?

Shattered Promises Get out! I told you not to come back here, youre not wanted! But Mum, this is your grandson were talking about! Amy stood on the doorstep of her mothers house, staring at her defiantly, her baby boy in a pram beside her. She stepped back quickly as her mother came out of the house, glaring at her in rage. The grandson you didnt bother telling me I was going to get! And at seventeen, too; youve humiliated your whole family. Amy looked down at the pram next to her; how was the little person in there a humiliation? He hasnt done anything to anyone, anShattered Promises

Bye DadThe hospital door opened slowly, and someone walked in and sat by the side of the bed.Bye Dad
A steady beeping sound filled the room the only sign that the person laying there was still clinging to life.
She reached out and touched his hand; it was cold as ice.
I know why you didnt tell us but that doesnt mean it doesnt hurt
Hed never risk upsetting his daughters and grandchildren. She smiled sadly as she remembered him sitting with her three year old daughter on his knee.
So thats why he wanted to see them every day he knew hed never see them grow

Duty Or HonourSmoke and soot hung in low, thick clouds, blotting out the sun. Fire stained the undersides of the clouds blood red as a small group of people hurried down the narrow street, coughing and hurrying along their children. Every now and then one fell, and lay unmoving on the dirty pavement. The group didnt even look back, they just kept going.Duty Or Honour
Faint explosions from bombs could be heard, far away. The group sped up, hoping they didnt get any closer. That would mean the soldiers would be closer too. They didnt dare look back; they just looked forward, running and running, hoping against hope that something, anything,

DanaThe wind whistled through the graves, blowing into the faces of the group walking down the gap between the rows. The snow lying on the ground crunched under their feet as they looked for the recent grave of their friend.Dana
We still dont know how you died, but The young man closest to the grave stopped, lost for words, and a girl next to him hugged him.
They stood in silence for a moment, just staring at the fresh gold lettering on the white marble, and the snow laying on top of it, glittering in the evening sunlight. They were all wondering the same thing; what killed the once healthy and happy young
